Wednesday, 12th February 2020, from 6 pm, IAGA Contemporary Art opens to the public the exhibition Amprenta Memoriei signed by the artist Amalia Crişan.
IAGA Contemporary Art is glad to present the second solo exhibition signed by the young artist from Cluj-Napoca, Amalia Crişan, entitled “Amprenta Memoriei” (The trace of Memory).
In the gallery will be possible to admire about thirty recent works, made between 2018 and 2020, which show the recent developments of the young artist’s pictorial investigation.
As the title of the exhibition suggests, Crişan understands this language as an inexhaustible laboratory of materials and techniques; an experimental field where the figuration dissolves in the extraction and where the images make up an inexhaustible narration, derived both from scenarios of the artist’s personal memory, both from the imaginary and from the deep.
The choice of supports of different sizes, from micro to macro, very long or very small shape, matches and compares with the daring experimentation of the pictorial materials that mix, stratify, overlap, giving life to complex images that call the viewer to a careful contemplation, necessary to grasp the richness of signs and icons that emerges and sinks between the surface and depth of each painting.
The exhibition is completed with a catalogue with the reproduction of all the works on display and with critical text by Ilaria Bignotti.
The artist will be present at the opening.
IAGA Contemporary Art reveals once again its main objective, that of being a vivid cultural ground looking for a possible cultural exchange and an international dialog. Born from the desire of a real contribution in the cultural development of a generation, the gallery chooses to create not just an exhibition but a moment of ponder towards the meaning of promoting and collecting contemporary art.
The exhibition is open from the 12th of February 2020 to the 8th of March 2020, in the spaces of IAGA Contemporary Art Gallery.
