Multivers!
IAGA Contemporary Art Gallery is pleased to announce “Multivers!”, a duo exhibition by Pierluca Cetera and Nicola Vinci, opening on November 13, 2025. Curated by Camilla Remondina, the exhibition explores the idea of the multiverse through a poetic and human lens, transforming a cosmological theory into an artistic dialogue about coexistence, identity, and empathy. At a time when science invites us to look outward toward infinite universes, Cetera and Vinci turn that gaze inward, toward the inner landscapes of the human experience. Together, they reinterpret the multiverse not as distant galaxies, but as the plurality of inner worlds that coexist within and between us.
Two Artists, Two Universes
In Multivers!, Pierluca Cetera and Nicola Vinci embody two distinct yet interconnected worlds. Each artist approaches the shared theme through his own medium and sensibility: Cetera through expressive painting, Vinci through photography. Their artistic dialogue reveals how parallel visions can diverge, intersect, and resonate, like alternate realities bound by shared curiosity.
Pierluca Cetera – “Inner Sounds”
Pierluca Cetera presents Inner Sounds, a new cycle of paintings in which human and animal figures inhabit dreamlike, timeless spaces. Each creature embodies an emotional or spiritual quality, a symbolic echo of humanity’s instinctive side.
Cetera’s works, painted alla prima on zinc plates, merge painting and sculpture in dynamic, textured surfaces that shimmer with metallic light. The resulting compositions, influenced by Francis Bacon and Italian avant-garde traditions, evoke both primal energy and philosophical reflection.
Through his bestiary of poetic titles: Enchanted Crowing, Expiatory Bleat, Soft Grunt; Cetera invites viewers to listen to the “inner sounds” that connect body, spirit, and nature.
Nicola Vinci – “The Education of Bees”
In The Education of Bees, Nicola Vinci explores the complex relationship between humans and animals, using photography as a form of ethical reflection. His images move between tenderness and critique, revealing both the purity and the exploitation embedded in this relationship.
Children, Vinci’s recurring protagonists, act as intermediaries between innocence and consciousness, embodying humanity’s moral ambiguities. The series oscillates between scenes of affection and those of alienation, encouraging viewers to reconsider the boundaries between species and the ethics of coexistence.
Drawing from art history and philosophy, Vinci reimagines the symbolic language of animals as mirrors of human behavior, from Renaissance allegory to contemporary critique.
A Dialogue of Forms and Ideas
Together, Cetera and Vinci transform the multiverse into a metaphor for human experience, two parallel artistic “universes” that reveal multiple dimensions of life on Earth. Both artists affirm the necessity of empathy and awareness at a time when technology and artificial intelligence challenge our sense of humanity.
For Multivers!, the artists also present a specially designed physical currency, a metaphor for value and exchange between worlds, and integrate interactive QR codes that connect visitors to sound compositions derived from animal voices, creating a multisensory and participatory experience.
