Francesco Arecco

Born 1977 in Gavi, Italy; lives and works in Gavi and Milano.

Education – Arecco studied Law in Genova, Science in Pavia, Art in Ovada and Milano. His most important Masters were Giancarlo Soldi, Mirco Marchelli, Balthazar Brennenstuhl, Luciano Fabro.

He has the strength of the carpenter, the dignity of the stonemasons. His sculpture doesn’t fear the large size, but knows how to put the thought in small objects hanging your attention, if you want it. His works often need to be observed with the nose in the sky, because they crouch (up) on the ceilings of galleries, houses, museums and urban landscapes.

Trojan Horses, his works intend the curiosity as a mean and end of a sculpture that find his sense with the look of the viewer. His sculpture thickens an eclectic, markedly versatile character, and open-mindness to the other that affirms the impossibility of being individual without the group. The sculpture of Arecco says: I exist.
