Stefan Badulescu
Born: 27th December 1983, Vatra Dornei, Suceava, Romania
Graduated from the BA and Master’s programs at the University of Art and Design Cluj, Romania, specializing in Photography and Multimedia.
PhD from the University of Art and Design Cluj, Romania, specializing in Visual Arts.
Full member of the Romanian Artist’s Union.
Member in the Doctoral Council of the University of Art and Design Cluj.
Training and education
- 1998 – 2002 – The “Ion Luca” Theoretical High school, specializing in Mathematics and Physics, Vatra Dornei, Suceava, Romania
- 2003 – 2007 – BA at the University of Art and Design Cluj, specializing in Photography and Multimedia
- 2007 – 2009 – Magna cum Laude Master’s Degree at the University of Art and Design Cluj, specializing in Photography and Multimedia
- 2009 – 2013 – Enrolled in the PhD program at the University of Art and Design Cluj, Romania, specializing in Visual Arts
My works transform the immediate reality using digital photography enabling it to become a surreal realm filled with symbols, myths and meanings than give ”plain” photography a welcomed new way to become a different visual language.
I am also interested in areas that at first glance lack relevant esthetic content and the possibility to imbue them with an aura of visual refinement.
